Linda Pearl Gunter was born on October 3, 1943, in Midland Texas to Herman Lafayette Gunter and Gusta Irene (Creila) Gunter. She was raised and attended school in Midland and had worked as a CNA and at Parker & Parsley for several years before retiring and moving to Brownwood. Linda never had any children of her own but she took all of her nieces and nephews under her wing and was known as the “Go To Aunt”. Linda loved life and had a way making people laugh like no one else could and she had a kindred spirit with a talent for writing poetry. Linda enjoyed playing skip-bo and scrabble and but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. When the guitar came out, she was front and center and ready to sing. Linda will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Connie Snowden; a brother, Herman Gunter; eight nieces, LeAnn Raiper, Jolynn Knight, Jennifer Tyler, Janet Francis, Shanna Santos, Amanda Gunter, Ashley Gunter and Lori Franco; and five nephews David Thornton, Bill Whaley Jr., Jeffery Whaley, Shawn Johnson and Travis Gunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hamil; her parents, Herman and Gusta Irene Gunter; four sisters, Margie Thornton, Jo Doss, Sandy Tyler and Nancy Gunter; two infant brothers, Clifford Lee and Jackie Don; and nephew, Kenny Hodges.
