Theola was born on Sept. 16, 1931 in Holder to James William Thomas and Martha Mae McDonald Thomas. On Aug. 29, 1951 she married Charles Harvey Woodward in Brownwood. Theola dedicated most of her work life helping others as a certified nurse’s aide. Theola is survived by her sister, Maxine Medford and husband Dwain Medford of Mullin, and children, Theresa Woodward of Early, and Judy Welch and husband Alan of Santa Anna; two grandchildren, Jennifer Tharp and husband Patrick, and Molly Shults and husband Shaun; five great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jarrah, and Jensyn Joyner, and Reagan and Cooper Shults; and many nieces and nephews. Theola was preceded in death by her parents, James and Martha; husband, Charles; daughter, Sherri Ivy; and siblings, Henry Hendrix, Annie Mae Wilkerson, D.W. Thomas, William Carl Thomas, Hillman Wayne Thomas, and Normie H. Thomas. Visitation will be open to all from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Heartland Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at Heartland Funeral Home.
