Funeral services for Dorothy Wilma Thomas, 85, of May, were held March 19, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Mrs. Thomas passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, in Abilene, Texas. Dorothy Wilma Thomas was born on Jan. 24, 1925, the daughter of Otis Dewey Thomas and Flossie Jane Jones Thomas. She grew up at Holder and attended Holder and Williams schools. She married to Hillman Wayne Thomas on May 18, 1946, in Brownwood. Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Brown County and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She was survived by her husband of 63 years, Hillman Thomas; three sons, a daughter, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leo Desmond Thomas and Otis Wayne Thomas; one niece; and one great-grandson.
