Graveside services for Lois E. Roland, age 87, of Early will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with burial to follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Lois died Friday afternoon, March 12, 2010, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Asa William and Amanda Barbara Cook Sissom. She was married to John Willis Roland on Oct. 3, 1942. He preceded her in death in October of 2005. She worked in food service at the Eden Hospital for a number of years prior to moving to Thunderbird Bay at Lake Brownwood where she lived prior to moving to Brownwood. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Moore and husband Elton of Jay, Okla.; five grandchildren, Debra Patton and husband Kevin of Cedar Hill, Texas, John Finlay of Early, Michelle Whitney and husband Brent of Grove, Texas, Elton Moore and wife April of Jay, Okla., and Patrick Moore and wife Jennifer of Disney, Okla.; eight great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Roy Finlay of Early; and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Linda Finlay, and nine brothers and sisters.
