Charlotte Anne Mccormick Pierce was born in Paris, Arkansas, on November 28, 1937, and her family moved to Texas soon after her birth. She attended schools in East Texas until she was nine years old when her family moved to West Texas. She graduated from high school in Andrews, Texas in 1956, and married James Boyd Pierce, who was attending college at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico. She also attended NMSU and later attended Eastern New Mexico University, Portales, New Mexico. After her husband obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree, they moved to Texico, New Mexico where he was employed by the Texico Municipal Schools. Charlotte was an active member in community affairs at Texico. She taught junior high age Sunday school classes for several years. She became a licensed realtor in Texas and New Mexico. She was a member of Texico Woman's Club and served in all offices and as President twice. In 1968, she was chosen as Outstanding Young Woman of American for New Mexico and in 1987 was named as Texico Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year. She was selected for Who's Who in American Womenin 1987-1988. Mrs. Pierce was employed at Smith, Smith & Tharp, Attorneys at Clovis for eight years upon moved Texico, then was employed at Aldridge, Harding & Aycock, Attorneys at Farwell for seventeen years. Charlotte was a licensed real estate broker for twelve years in Texas & New Mexico. After living in Texico for 37 ytears, in 1994, she retired as Broker and Owner of Pierce Real Estate, and her husband retired as Superintendent of Texico Municipal Schools. They moved to El Paso to be near their daughter, Elizabeth Williams and her husband, Gary Williams and their three children. Lifelong Baptists, in 1994 became members of the First Baptist Church of El Paso. Charlotte Pierce is predeceased in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Ann Jeffcoat, Billie Mize, and Virginia Dalton. She is survived by her husband, James Boyd Pierce; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Pierce Williams and husband, Gary Williams and three grandchildren, Zia Elizabeth, Jeremiah, James, and Joshua Ray Williams. She is also survived by brothers, Charles McCormick, of Odessa, Texas, John Riley and wife, Billie Joyce Riley, of Andrew, Texas and sister Wanda Wallace and husband, Bill Wallace, of San Angelo, Texas, and several nieces, nephews and friends. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of El Paso, 805 Montano Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79902. In addition, a Visitation Service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Davis-Moris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood, TX 76801. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Decewmber 31, 2010, at 10:00 AM at David-Morris Funeral Home. A Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County, Texas.
