Claude McInnis, age 90 of May, passed away Jan. 7, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Brown County, he was born in Byrds on June 24, 1916, to John and Margaret McInnis. He was married to Lillie Mae Hallmark on Aug. 17, 1939, in Marfa, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1994. A lifelong rancher, he was an advocate of Brown County's youth and their livestock programs. He was a member of the Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Hereford Association, American Hereford Association, American Angus Association. He was also a member of Central United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Bill and Jessica McInnis of May; a daughter and son-in-law Claudette and Billy Thomas of Raymondville; four grandchildren and their spouses, Ben and Rachel McInnis of May, Rachel and Scott Myers of Claude, Mitch and Linda Thomas of Raymondville, and Tonnyre and David Joe of Raymondville; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 9, 2007 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
