Funeral services for Coy Fortner McCord, 95, of San Antonio, formerly of Brown County, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mrs. McCord died Wednesday, March 9, 2005. She was born March 2, 1910, the daughter of Loyd and Sallie Fortner. She was married to Everett McCord and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Loy Fortner. She was a member of South San Antonio Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Thomas McCord and wife Rita of Somerset; daughter, Maxine Barnes and husband Ralph of Tallahassee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolly Wood and Troy Osburn of Brownwood and Demp Crume of May; brother, Fleek Fortner of Early; and many nieces and nephews.
