LAKE BROWNWOOD -- Funeral services for Orville Lance, 81, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12 at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. Mr. Lance died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lance was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Marshall, Ark. He worked as a pumper in the oil fields. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Pauline Keele in 1979 in Big Lake. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a member of the American Legion and the DAV. He had lived in Lake Brownwood since 1983. Survivors include wife, Pauline White of Lake Brownwood; sons, Roy Lance of Kingsland and Eugene Lance of Rankin; daughters, Betty Dennett of Odessa and Becky Lynn of Hobbs, N. M.; sister, Oleta Tedford of Mangrum, Okla.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and two children, Wanda Lance and Jimmy Lance.
