Funeral service for Lee D. Kirby, Jr., 77, of Lake Brownwood, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Davis-Morris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating. Military grave rites will be observed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mr. Kirby died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. He was born July 18, 1925, in Copan, Okla. He was married to Betty O’Neal at Independence, Kan., on July 2, 1945. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II, and was retired from an oil field equipment sales firm. He was a Methodist, and had lived in the Brownwood area for the past 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Kirby, of Lake Brownwood; one son, Keith Kirby of Lake Brownwood; three daughters, Karen Fronce and husband Charles, Janis Ward, and Kathy Mathis and husband Darrell, all of Houston; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Larson of Brownwood.
