Gary Damon Kelcy, 54, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Gary was born March 6, 1952, in Brownwood to Jimmy and Helen Wheat Kelcy. Gary was baptized into the Blanket Baptist Church on Aug. 1, 1965. He was a song leader and could praise the Lord with great prayer. He was a 1970 graduate of Blanket High School. Gary worked at the Woolen Mill and was a welder at Ross Co. and also was a heavy equipment operator. He was also a lifelong resident of Brown County. Gary is survived by his loving mother, Helen Kelcy; his son, Jeremy Kelcy; his daughter, Lucy Ogden; a sister, Kathy Pemberton and husband Leon; a niece, Leslie Pemberton; two step-sons, Jake and John Schwab and his wife Robin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Zackary Holliday, Saxxon Holliday, Monique Holliday, Dakota Holliday; and a nephew, Nico D’Amato. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Kelcy; a sister, Gayla Jean Kelcy; and a brother, James Thomas Kelcy. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Griffith officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Gary loved his mother and his children and was an awesome mechanic. If it was broken, Gary could fix it. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We love you, Gary.
