WATAUGA -- L. Grady Hood, 84, a retired assembler for Lennox, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Chapel, with burial to follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Grady was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Brown County, to Emma and John Berry Hood. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Mayme R. “Rossy” Hood of Watauga; son, John L. Hood and wife, Darla, of Fort Worth; daughters, Donna Johnson and Barry Spencer of Azle, and Verena K. Martin of Watauga; brother, Ellis Dean Hood and wife, Doris, of Brownwood; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
