Doyle Robert Easterling, age 84, of North Lake Brownwood, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2012, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Charles Fortenberry and Chaplain Tony King officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites will also be held. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Mr. Easterling was born Sept. 13, 1927, in Haskell, Texas, the son of the late Donald Robert and Maude Arthur Easterling. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in West Texas for many years prior to moving from Goldsmith in the early 90's to Lake Brownwood. He attended the North Lake Community Church and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the May Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Easterling of Early; three sons, Robert Easterling and wife Ann of Boerne, Edward Easterling and wife Janice of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Douglas Easterling of Killeen; four daughters, Karen Cypert and husband Gerald of Ennis, Sharon Arce and husband Joe of Granger, Tina Easterling of Mansfield, and Nancy Calhoun and husband Toby of Lubbock; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Doyce Easterling of Carlsbad, N.M.; two sisters, Margie Dunlap of May and Runez Atkinson of May; and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Evelyn Pittman; and a grandson, John Robert Easterling.
