Funeral services for Birdie Ozelle Chambers, 98, of May, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Starnes officiating. Private interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Chambers died Friday, April 15, 2005, in a local nursing facility. She was born July 7, 1906, in May, to George and Amy Crume. She was married to Marvin Chambers on June 23, 1930, in Wauricka, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1994. Ozelle taught school at Holder, Williams and Woodland Heights in Brown County until she started her family. Ozelle was a member of the May Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marshall Crume; and sister, Agnes Chambers. Survivors include a son, Henry Chambers and wife, JoAnn of May; daughter, Marva Brim and husband Jim of Brownwood; sister, Pat Wood and husband John of Dallas; sister-in-law, Demp Crume of May; two granddaughters, Nancy Weir and Marla Uchimiya of California; and three great-grandchildren, Dan Weir, Trisha Weir and Kaythlyn Uchimiya of California.
