ABILENE -- Graveside services for Fred Eugene Miller, 75, of Abilene, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at the May Cemetery in May with the Rev. Ruben Packer officiating. Services under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Miller died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at his home. Mr. Miller was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Clovis, N. M., the son of Leslie and Myrtle Adams Miller. He was an Army Air Corp veteran, serving his country during WW II. In October of 1952 he married Thelma Arline Miller in Clovis, N. M. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 1999. He had worked in the oil industry as an equipment operator for BJ Services in Breckenridge. He had been a resident of Abilene since 1999, formerly of Lubbock. He was a Baptist. Survivors include son, Randy Miller and wife, Anora, of Abilene; son, Charley Miller of Lubbock; five sisters, Mildred of Plainview, Merty Fae of Plainview, Joyce of Oklahoma, Avarine of Oklahoma and Melba of Tulia; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Arline Miller; and parents, Leslie and Myrtle Miller.
